Union Bank's ™Bounceless Checking privilege is designed to eliminate the surprise and embarrassment and merchant fees that come with having to explain a returned check to a merchant because of insufficient funds in your checking account. Banks charge an NSF (Not Sufficient Funds) fee whether a check is paid or returned. Should an overdraft occur, you will be assessed the normal insufficient charge of $25 per check. Should the account balance remain overdrawn longer than 3 days, our daily overdraft charge will begin on the 4th day the account remains overdrawn.
How to get ™Bounceless Checking:
Personal household account holders who maintain a good credit history and have displayed good account management for 30 days may contact one of our customer account representatives for details.
Notices:
We will mail a notice informing you of each item paid into an overdraft or items returned along with the amount of the NSF item fee. Note: The fee for paying an item into an overdraft is the same as the fee to return the item.
Keeping your ™Bounceless Checking Privilege:
In order to keep your ™Bounceless Checking Privilege, you must maintain a positive balance in your account for one business day each month. Union Bank will not normally pay an item that exceeds your overdraft limit, including the NSF fee to pay the item. Remember, ™Bounceless Checking is a noncontractual privilege. We may not pay an item into overdraft at anytime even though we may have paid items before.
Delinquent Accounts:
Accounts that do not maintain a positive balance at least one business day each month will be considered delinquent. Should your account remain delinquent we may close your account and notify you of our intent to recover the funds. Note: Multiple owners of a joint account are individually and severally responsible for the overdrawn account balance.
Union Bank reserves the right to, at any time, discontinue your ™Bounceless Checking privilege without previous notice.
